Every safety flag comes as a complete kit, assembled and ready to fit, and what you see on the product page is exactly what you receive. Every part of the kit can be customised, including the pole, flag, base and plug, and your order will still arrive as a complete kit. A standard kit includes:

  • A pole, made to your chosen length
  • An Orange Reflective X Mesh Sleeve Flag (300mm x 300mm), with 2 cable ties for fitting
  • A large anti rotational quick release base
  • A Female Deutsch plug, fitted to all LED models

We make two types of safety flag:

  • NON-LED safety flags: a fibreglass pole with a high visibility flag. They need no power or wiring.
  • LED safety flags: lighting is built in, so the vehicle can be seen at night, in dust and in low light. They come in two styles. The Top LED Whip has a single red LED globe at the top of the pole. Full pole LED whips (Buggy, Spiral, Ultra and Clear Bright) have the whole pole lit, which makes them brighter, easier to see from a distance, and the better choice for night shifts, winter and underground work.
  • Top LED Whip: red, 9V to 36V multivolt.
  • LED Buggy Whip: red full pole LED, 12V and 24V multivolt.
  • LED Spiral Whip: full pole LED in red, blue, green, amber or white, 12V or 24V.
  • LED Ultra Whip: full pole LED in red, blue, green, amber or white, 12V or 24V.
  • Clear Bright Whip: full pole LED in a clear pole. Red and white is standard, and red, blue, green, amber and white are also available in any combination. 12V or 24V.

Where a model is 12V or 24V, tell us your vehicle voltage when ordering.

Our NON-LED safety flags are fibreglass poles with a high visibility flag. They need no power or wiring, so there is nothing to connect to the vehicle.

Available in three styles, all in red or white:

  • 1 Piece Pole: a single continuous pole.
  • 2 Piece Pole: two sections that connect securely, so the pole can be split in half for transport and storage.
  • 3 Piece Pole: three equal length sections that connect securely, so the pole can be split into thirds for transport and storage. Available if required.

Every NON-LED kit includes:

  • Flag: Orange Reflective X Mesh Sleeve Flag, 300mm x 300mm
  • Base: large anti rotational quick release base
  • Length: made to any length you need

The flag and base can be swapped for any of our other flags and bases.

Our standard lengths are listed on each product page, and we can make any length you need, to the centimetre.

  • Orange Reflective X Mesh Sleeve Flag, 300mm x 300mm (standard on all kits)
  • Yellow Reflective X Mesh Flag, 300mm x 300mm
  • Orange Mesh Flag, 260mm x 200mm

Mounting & Power

2 questions

Every kit comes standard with our large anti rotational quick release base. It is made in two parts: a base that bolts to the vehicle, usually on the bullbar or headboard, and a male insert fitted to the bottom of the pole. The pole clicks into the base to fit, and clicks out again to remove, with no tools needed. The anti rotational design stops the pole from turning in the base.

This makes the flag much easier to take on and off the vehicle than a pole that is permanently bolted on, for example when you need to wash, store or move it to another vehicle. If you would prefer a permanent fit, the fixed bolt on base can be supplied instead.

Other bases are available:

  • Spring bases: medium (poles 0.8m to 2.5m) and large (poles over 2.5m), so the pole flexes on impact.
  • Multi Directional Fold Down Base: folds to 90, 135, 180, 225 or 270 degrees and mounts either side.
  • Steel Plate Magnetic Base: for temporary mounting without drilling.
  • Fixed Bolt On Base: for permanent mounting.
  • Safety Flag Mounting Plate: a bracket with a 14mm hole for mounting to your vehicle.

Every LED whip has a Female Deutsch plug. You can have it wired into your vehicle by an auto electrician, or use our Male Deutsch DT Plug to Cigarette Lighter Plug adapter to plug straight into the vehicle.

If you need help with wiring, email office@vehiclesafetyflags.com.au.
